SUMMER CAMP FAQs

What are the hours for Camp Clayton?

We offer two choices for busy families:

  • Regular – 8:00a.m. – 4:00p.m.
  • Extended – 7:00a.m. – 6:00p.m. (additional fee)
What information do I need to register for camp?
  • Up-to-date shot records

What ages of children attend Camp Clayton?
  • Pre-K Discovery Camp: 3* – 5 years old (these campers have not been to school or kindergarten) *select locations
  • STEAM Camp: 5 – 12 years old
  • Adventure Camp: 6 – 12 years old
  • Clayton Specialty Camp: 8 – 12 years old
  • Teen Leadership Camp: 13 – 15 years old
What staff/camper ratios does Camp Clayton adhere to?
  • Pre-K Discovery Camp: 1:8
  • STEAM Camp: 1:10, STEAM Field Trips – 1:8
  • Clayton Specialty Camp: 1:10
  • Adventure Camp (age 6-8): 1:8, (age 9-12): 1:10
  • Teen Leadership Camp: 1:10
What is the daily schedule each week?

Each day of the week has a pre-set schedule.  Click here to see the full schedule.

What should my camper bring with them each day?
  • Lunch (except for specified field trips)
  • Backpack
  • Refillable water bottle 
  • Closed-toed shoes
  • Swimsuit, swim shoes, towel (Adventure Camps only)
What if I do not want my camper to go on field trips?

Campers should not attend Camp Clayton on field trip days if they are not participating in the field trip.

Site-specific contact information will be provided to each camp parent before the program begins. Please speak with your camp’s Site Coordinator first, then if needed, reach out to the Area Program Manager, followed by the Senior Program Manager.

Do I have to attend every week?

Parents can choose which weeks work best for their family. Some parents choose weeks based on the theme, field trip, camper interest, family vacations, etc.

What if I want to cancel a week that I am currently registered for?

Parents must contact Client Services to withdraw their camper from the program two weeks in advance by emailing clientservices@claytonyouth.org or filling out our cancellation form.

What if my camper requires medication?
  • Medication must be turned in to camp leadership either daily/weekly. 
  • All required documents must be filled out by the parent/guardian before the medication is administered. 
  • Medication will be stored in a locked cabinet until it is time for medication to be administered. 
  • Medication is only dispensed by camp leadership. 
  • Life-saving medications (inhalers/epi-pens) will be kept with the counselor for quick usage if needed.

What do I do if my camper needs accommodations, and/or has allergies?
  • List any special accommodations, medication, and/or allergy concerns on the enrollment form information at the time of registration. 
  • A manager may reach out to you for further discussion.
