One Safe Place is open to serve families with children aged 6 weeks to 4 years old. Clayton will follow The Texas Department and Protective Services guidelines in relation to COVID-19 health and safety recommendations.
Clayton is proud to be a founding partner in One Safe Place, Tarrant County’s one stop resource for domestic violence victims seeking to escape abusive relationships. Taking the first steps to leave a violent relationship can be frightening and confusing – One Safe Place brings together nonprofits and law enforcement in one secure building to ease the victim’s journey and ensure access to services. Clayton plays an important role at One Safe Place by offering professional, secure onsite child care that is available at no charge to clients who are meeting with counselors, law enforcement or obtaining other services at One Safe Place. Child care is also provided for victim’s court appearances or medical appointments. Clayton’s staff at One Safe Place is trained to work with young children who have experienced violence in their homes and they are committed to providing a supportive environment for children during this stressful time in their lives.
The Clayton Child Development Center at One Safe Place also offers full-day care and pre-school activities for children of our One Safe Place partners and from the local community. Clayton staff engages children ranging from infants through pre-school in age-appropriate learning provided by the highly respected Frog Street Curriculum. In addition to providing a safe, nurturing environment, our goal is to partner with parents so that every child is “kindergarten ready” when they graduate from our program.

Safe City Commission and One Safe Place – “Clayton is known as a long-standing provider of before and after school enrichment services and is committed to providing quality care to the children they serve. For the past 40 years, Clayton has provided an environment for children that is safe, fun and engaging. However, their scope of care recently extended into full-time care for infants and pre-school children.
Safe City Commission and One Safe Place became partners with Clayton to provide childcare to families subjected to domestic violence. One Safe Place is a collaboration of multiple partner agencies working together, under one roof, providing coordinated services to victims of domestic violence. Clayton provides free childcare to clients of One Safe Place. In addition to providing childcare to clients of One Safe Place, Clayton also provides childcare to children in the community who live in low income, high-crime neighborhoods. Through Clayton scholarships families who would not otherwise be able to pay the total cost of care, will be able to enjoy the quality service that they provide.”
