Summary of Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure the program meets all agency, regulatory and contract requirements.
  • Be an advocate for life skills training and the mission, vision and values of the agency.
  • Develop and plan program activities appropriate to the interests and needs of the children while addressing specific components as required by grant requirements and district needs.
  • Commit to implementing Clayton’s life skills-based curriculum and program structure.
  • Coordinate the program with the school site and ensure a positive working relationship.
  • Collaborate with external community resources to enhance the program.
  • Work to continually improve the program based on evaluations and feedback from key stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all school requirements regarding use of building facilities.
  • Familiarize parents of newly enrolled children with the program’s expectations and routines.
  • Maintain and submit accurate program paperwork (i.e. enrollment and attendance records).
  • Purchase supplies and manage center level budgets, including but not limited to maintaining accurate spending records, submitting purchase orders and invoices, managing contracted services, and monitoring staff time cards and work hours.
  • Actively promote the success of the program through marketing efforts.
  • Work with the school to recruit eligible students and maintain minimum enrollment and participation goals.
  • Participate in school community service, parent organizations and other school functions.
  • Provide leadership to assigned staff and be a positive role model. 
  • Direct and orient program staff, contractors and volunteers to ensure service quality and support for program goals.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Area Program Manager and school personnel as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field strongly preferred
  • At least 4 years working with youth programs or in a school district environment
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a similar setting

Environmental Conditions

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Very limited exposure to physical risk
  • Risk of exposure to childhood diseases
