Level Up Their Summer Adventure

For kids who want to get even more out of their summer, Camp Clayton offers Experience Enhancers – optional add-on programs that run alongside the regular camp schedule. These sessions give campers the chance to try new activities and develop skills in areas that interest them. Each Experience Enhancer is guided by trained instructors and held in a safe, supportive setting. With multiple options available, these add-ons bring extra variety and learning opportunities to the camp day.

SUMMER CAMP FAQs

What are the hours for Camp Clayton?

We offer two choices for busy families:

  • Regular – 8:00a.m. – 4:00p.m.
  • Extended – 7:00a.m. – 6:00p.m. (additional fee)
What information do I need to register for camp?

What ages of children attend Camp Clayton?
  • Pre-K Discovery Camp: 3* – 5 years old (these campers have not been to school or kindergarten) *select locations
  • STEAM Camp: 5 – 12 years old (these campers have completed Kindergarten)
  • Adventure Camp: 6 – 12 years old
  • Clayton Experience Enhancers: 8 – 12 years old
  • Teen Leadership Camp: 13 – 15 years old
What are the registration fees?

Registration fee is $50 for a single child; $90 maximum when enrolling two or more children.  Fees will be waived when parents register during the Early Bird Discount period until March 29th, 2026.  Discount is applied automatically during the registration process.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! Camp Clayton offers several discounts to help make summer fun more affordable for families.  We offer the following discounts:

  1. Active Duty Military & First Responders* – 15%

    *Actively employed EMT, Fire, and Police Personnel

  1. Siblings – $5
  2. Clayton Partner ISD Employees – dependent on the district

What do you offer to enhance the Camp Clayton experience so kids don't get bored?

For our Adventure, STEAM, and Teen camps we offer Experience Enhancers! These are optional activities like swimming lessons, theatre camp, sports, and more. Learn more about each camp’s large selection of Experience Enhancers!

What staff/camper ratios does Camp Clayton adhere to?
  • Pre-K Discovery Camp: 1:8
  • STEAM Camp: 1:15
  • Clayton Experience Enhancers 1:15
  • Adventure Camp (age 6-8): 1:8, (age 9-12): 1:10
  • Teen Leadership Camp: 1:10

What is the daily schedule each week?

Each day of the week has a pre-set schedule. Click here to see a sample week at a glance.

What should my camper bring with them each day?
  • Lunch (except for specified field trips)
  • Backpack
  • Refillable water bottle 
  • Closed-toed shoes
  • Swimsuit, swim shoes, towel (Adventure Camps only)
What if I do not want my camper to go on field trips?

We understand that some families may choose not to have their camper participate in field trips. On those days, we ask that campers who are not attending the trip stay home for the day.
This is because Camp Clayton must follow specific staffing and safety guidelines when we are off campus, and we are unable to accommodate additional campers remaining on site. Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep everyone safe.

Are snacks provided at the camps?

Yes! We provide each camper with two snacks every day — one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Families are just asked to pack a lunch for their camper to enjoy midday.

Are lunches offered at the camps?

For most of our camps, families are asked to pack a lunch for their camper to enjoy mid-day. At our Clayton Child Development Center at Keller ISD camp site, families have the option to purchase a nutritious lunch for $20 per child per week during online registration. Click here for a sample menu.

Is your Adventure Camp accredited?

Yes! Clayton’s Adventure Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). Learn more about the review process and why this recognition is important.

If you have camp-related questions prior to the start of the camp season, please reach out to Client Services at clientservices@claytonyouth.org or our camp team at summer@claytonyouth.org. Camp-specific contact information will be provided to parents shortly before the camp begins.

If my child needs to be picked up early, are we able to easily come get them?

If you need to pick up your child early, you can simply notify the camp director at drop-off and then call the camp site upon arrival. 

Do I have to attend every week?

Parents can choose which weeks work best for their family. Some parents choose weeks based on the theme, field trip, camper interest, family vacations, etc.

What if I want to cancel a week that I am currently registered for?

Parents must contact Client Services to withdraw their camper from the program two weeks in advance by emailing clientservices@claytonyouth.org or filling out our cancellation form.

What if my camper requires medication?
  • Medication must be turned in to camp leadership either daily/weekly. 
  • All required documents must be filled out by the parent/guardian before the medication is administered. 
  • Medication will be stored in a locked cabinet until it is time for medication to be administered. 
  • Medication is only dispensed by camp leadership. 
  • Life-saving medications (inhalers/epi-pens) will be kept with the counselor for quick usage if needed.

What do I do if my camper needs accommodations, and/or has allergies?
  • List any special accommodations, medication, and/or allergy concerns on the enrollment form information at the time of registration. 
  • A manager may reach out to you for further discussion.
What else do I need to know about Clayton field trips?

Clayton field trips are a fun part of summer for our Adventure, STEAM, and Teen camps.
Field trips days are on specific days broken out by location and age. Our staff will provide an exact schedule closer to camp time. We provide t-shirts during the campers’ first week that we request they wear on field trip days. 

Where in the school is the camp located?

Camps that are located on school premises are held in the gym, cafeteria, and classrooms.
